Our sponsored rider Chris Whinnett has been very busy riding his ponies and schooling them in preparation for this week end. He will be competing at Norton Heath BSJA junior show and his Uncle John could well be taking Chris in John's brand new Empire Horsebox. John also trains Chris and many hours are spent working on the ponies in between competing at shows. Lessons are vital and even riders at the very top of the tree still have a trainer. Many top show jumpers have a dressage trainer as well as a jumping trainer and will meet up with them both on a regular basis. John is a very well known and respected trainer and this means that Chris has an expert to guide and mentor him. Children need help with their riding but they also need help with course walking and at most of the junior BSJA shows you will see youngsters walking the course with an adult who can give them useful tips and stride by stride advice. A knowledgeable person watching, can then tell you where you have gone wrong and help you to put things right. This means that you are learning from every round that you jump and this is a very important part of the long journey to the top. I caught up with Lee at SouthView Premier Show yesterday and he is pleased to report that Empire have sold two of their stock of second hand lorries during the past week. Clients traveled from Italy and Bulgaria to view and then purchase the lorries having found our website on the Internet. |
